Core training has often been related to training your abs, looking for that six pack or toned tummy to hit the beach in the summer. Well, there is much more to core training than that, especially when it comes to athlete development.
In ‘Stronger Core Punch Harder – Part 2‘, we outlined the key fundamentals of core stabilisation (picture above).
The video below consists of a short core circuit that you can add to your weight or boxing training sessions. Each exercise challenges different types of core stabilisation, put it together and you have a complete core challenge.

Plank with shoulder touches – Anti-extension, Anti-rotation
8 reps on each side
Uni-lateral farmer walks – Anti-lateral flexion
15 m walks x 2 on each side
Lying leg raises – Hip flexion with neutral spine
10 reps
Deadbugs – Hip flexion with neutral spine, Anti-extension
8 reps each side
