WHY ARE SHOULDER EXERCISES IMPORTANT FOR BOXING? 💪
Boxers need and many have strong shoulders to help deliver fast, powerful and thudding punches. A common thought process would be to use heavy and fast pressing exercise to help strengthen the punching action.
However, the punching action often results in over-developed anterior deltoids and pectorals, especially when it can be repeated over 1000 times per session. This can cause shoulder tightness and weaknesses in the posterior shoulder.
